Wow; I haven't seen such a collection of technically savy people.

Size relationships:
Common dust is less than or equal to 1 micron;
Cement dust is between 3 and 4 microns;
Your own red blood cells are 5 microns;
Silt can range from 10 to 75 microns;
Sand ranges from 75 to 1,000 microns.
There are many types of filters as you probably know by now. Picking the right type, as well as the right micron rating can be tricky. If it is possible to grab a water sample, we can help.
Either you or an IPT technician can bring a one gallon or larger volume to ITP's facility for testing. Obviously, the larger the sample volume the more tests that can be conducted; the more tests, the wider the variety of filters that can be examined.
In addition to bag and cartridge filters, which usually have to be disposed of when they're dirty, IPT carries a complete line of stainless steel cleanable or self-cleaning filters.
These units are designed to operate at the highest differential pressures in the industry. High micron ratings (to 500) down to 10 microns are standard, but custom sizes are also available. The cleanable and reusable nature of these filters keeps the costs of filtration to a minimum.
